I just got back from a week-long stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda, and I have mixed feelings. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, and the staff worked really hard to make us feel welcome. However, I had some disappointments, like a less-than-ideal beach experience due to seaweed and a few minor hiccups with my room. Overall, it was a decent getaway, but it didn't quite live up to the luxury I expected.
